If you live in the Golden Triangle, you have watched this year's restaurant news roll in from three different directions at once. A burger spot on NW First Avenue. An omakase counter tucked into Mizner Plaza. A 250-seat Moroccan lounge off SW 18th Street. Two Italian and Mediterranean imports landing at Town Center this fall. Together, these openings make up a varied list of new restaurants in Boca Raton, spread across several areas.
Downtown isn't one continuous strip you can stroll end to end. Not from here.
The Golden Triangle sits east of Mizner Park, between Mizner Boulevard and Northeast 5th Avenue, with the Intracoastal at its back. That position helps explain the geography of this year's openings: 2026 didn't add one dining district to Boca. It added three, and they landed on different sides of the same half-mile. For a Golden Triangle address, the difference between a five-minute walk and a car ride isn't a convenience question. It's the whole point of living where you live.
Three Directions, One Neighborhood
Start with what actually happened this year, because the shape of it explains everything else.
A cluster of chef-driven, small-format openings landed in the three-block radius that regulars still think of as the back side of downtown, on and around NW First Avenue and NE Second Street. Charm City Burger Co. opened its second-ever location there on January 23, 2026, after nearly two years of delays from its Deerfield Beach original. A short walk east, MINŌ Omakase & Sake Bar opened in April 2026 inside Mizner Plaza, a 30-seat room with only 10 at the counter. Two blocks farther, Black Star Bakery and Cafe is bringing its sixth location into Royal Palm Place.
A second cluster is forming at Town Center at Boca Raton, where established out-of-market brands are moving in with bigger rooms and simpler stories. Felice, a family-run New York Tuscan concept from restaurateur Jacopo Giustiniani and SA Hospitality Group, the team behind Sant Ambroeus and Casa Lever, is listed as coming soon at 6000 Glades Road. Limani Grill, a Mediterranean seafood concept built around crudo and charcoal-grilled specialties, is opening at the same address.
A third cluster sits in the residential ring west and south of downtown. Nômade, a 250-seat Moroccan-inspired concept from co-owner Mary C. Webster, opened its first Florida location on June 6, 2026, at 6030 SW 18th Street. Pepe's Cantina opened its eighth location at Regency Court at Woodfield Plaza earlier this year, and Beignets & Brew opened at the Polo Shoppes on April 1.
Three clusters, three different kinds of restaurant, three different parts of the map. None of that is a problem if you're comparing menus. It's a problem if you're comparing walks.
What's Actually A Walk From Here
Here's the part that matters if you already live in the Golden Triangle and you're deciding where to eat on a random Tuesday.
Mizner Plaza and Royal Palm Place both sit on the same side of Mizner Park as the Golden Triangle, close enough that walking there is a normal option, not an event. NW First Avenue sits on the opposite side, across Federal Highway from Mizner Park, which means getting there on foot means crossing through or around the park itself rather than just stepping out your door. Town Center is roughly three miles west on Glades Road. The residential ring around SW 18th Street and Woodfield Plaza is farther still. Both are a drive no matter which street in the Golden Triangle you start from.
| Cluster | Example opening | From a Golden Triangle address |
|---|---|---|
| Mizner Plaza / Royal Palm Place | MINŌ Omakase & Sake Bar, Black Star Bakery and Cafe | Genuine walk |
| NW First Avenue / back of downtown | Charm City Burger Co. | Walk, but across Mizner Park and Federal Highway |
| Town Center | Felice, Limani Grill (fall 2026) | Drive |
| Residential ring | Nômade, Pepe's Cantina, Beignets & Brew | Drive |
These openings span several parts of Boca. From a Golden Triangle porch, the useful distinction is between a straightforward walk, a less direct walk, and a drive.
Restaurants Within Walking Distance
MINŌ is worth the walk on its own terms. The room seats 30 with only 10 at the counter, and the concept comes out of Kapow Hospitality Group, the team behind Kapow Noodle Bar next door, built around the Japanese idea of shun, the exact moment an ingredient hits its peak. Executive Chef JM Canlas came over from MILA Omakase before taking the kitchen. It's a small room by design, which means the walk over is also a bet on getting a seat.
Black Star Bakery and Cafe is the lower-stakes version of the same idea. Founded by Dan Magor and Odehel Magor, this is the chain's sixth location and its first stop in Royal Palm Place, known for bagels, croissants, espresso, and all-day breakfast plates that don't require a reservation strategy. If MINŌ is the evening you plan for, Black Star is the morning you don't have to.
Charm City Burger Co. is the one everyone is talking about, and it's still walkable if you're willing to treat the walk as part of the outing rather than a shortcut. The second location opened at 201 NW First Avenue after roughly two years of delays from the original Deerfield Beach spot, and that kind of wait tends to produce a line. Budget for it, or budget for the drive instead.
Fall Still Belongs To Mizner Park Itself
The restaurant map explains where the new tables are. It doesn't explain the calendar, and for a Golden Triangle resident, the calendar is arguably the better deal, because most of it happens on the park side of the neighborhood, not the restaurant side.
Sanborn Square runs a Night Market monthly and Saturday morning Yoga in the Park year-round, both a genuine walk from most Golden Triangle streets. Putt N' on the Plaza sits in the middle of Mizner Park itself, open year-round, the kind of low-key amenity that only matters once you live close enough to use it without planning around it.
Two dated fixtures worth putting on the calendar now:
- Haunted Mizner returns October 31, 2026, at 590 E Plaza Real.
- The 13th Annual Boca Raton Wine & Food Festival lands November 21, 2026, at Sanborn Square Park, one of the city's three signature food festivals held there each year and the biggest of the three.
If you're driving in for either one, the practical note is parking. Garage C at 3rd Street and Mizner Boulevard is the default for anything at The Studio at Mizner Park, while Garage A and B off Federal Highway at Fourth Street cover anything at the amphitheater. Worth knowing before the lot fills.
What's Still Just Coming
Felice and Limani Grill are both still listed as coming soon at Town Center, without a firm open date attached to either one as of this writing. That's typically code for a fall opening rather than a specific week, so don't plan a birthday dinner around either one just yet. When they do open, they'll do it a few miles from the Golden Triangle rather than a few blocks, which is worth remembering the next time a "new in Boca" list treats every 2026 opening as equally close.
That's really the thesis of this whole year in downtown dining. Boca's restaurant scene didn't get bigger in one direction. It split into three, and one of those three directions offers a straightforward walk from a Golden Triangle address, while the NW First Avenue cluster is also walkable by a less direct route. Knowing which openings are an easy walk, which involve a less direct walk, and which require a drive can help you plan a spontaneous Tuesday.
